Researchers are conducting a study to establish age- and sex-specific normal values for heart structure and function in healthy Chinese adults. This includes using advanced cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) techniques like steady-state free precession and novel methods to assess myocardial strain and tissue characteristics. The study aims to fill the gap in existing reference standards for cardiovascular measurements specific to the Chinese population, supporting better diagnosis and prognosis of heart diseases. The study involves no treatment or intervention as it is observational. Participants undergo cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging to measure traditional and novel heart parameters. Data collected will contribute to a comprehensive database of normal heart values for Chinese adults, enhancing the understanding of heart health and assisting future cardiovascular research. Participants will be healthy volunteers without cardiovascular conditions or risk factors. They will undergo imaging sessions and clinical assessments to provide detailed heart structure and function data. The study will monitor the normal values of left and right heart structures and functions, as well as novel CMR parameters, over five years. This information will help improve early identification and prognosis of cardiovascular diseases.
