The purpose of this study is to determine why up to 25% of the pediatric patients who have surgery for a tumor in the posterior fossa develops the Cerebellar Mutism Syndrome (CMS). Furthermore the purpose is to explore the clinical course and the best treatment of the syndrome.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Younger than 18 years at the date of first imaging showing the tumor
- Tumor located in the cerebellum, 4th ventricle, or brainstem with planned surgical removal or open biopsy
- Includes second or further surgeries
- Informed consent given by custodial parent(s)
You will not qualify if you...
History of severe allergic reactions to study medication Currently pregnant or breastfeeding Recent participation in another clinical trial within the last 30 days Presence of uncontrolled medical conditions that could affect safety
