Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Diagnosis of ADPKD based on Ravine et al. criteria
  • Imaging classification Class 1 B-E (for ADPKD subjects)
  • Male or female aged 18 to 30 years, inclusive
  • Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) above 60 mL/min/m2 (CKD-EPI equation)
  • Ability to provide written informed consent
  • Male or female aged 18 to 30 years, inclusive (healthy subjects)
  • Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) above 60 mL/min/m2 (healthy subjects)
  • Ability to provide written informed consent (healthy subjects)
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Imaging classification Class 2 (for ADPKD subjects)
  • Presence of other kidney diseases such as lupus, hepatitis B or C, or amyloidosis
  • Diabetes mellitus with fasting glucose above 126 mg/dL or treatment with insulin or oral hypoglycemics
  • Urine protein excretion above 1 g/24 hours
  • Abnormal urinalysis suggesting glomerular disease
  • Contraindications to MRI, including ferromagnetic metal prostheses, aneurysm clips, severe claustrophobia, or large abdominal/back tattoos
  • Pregnancy in female subjects
  • Personal or family history of kidney disease (for healthy subjects)
  • Presence of proteinuria (for healthy subjects)
