Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Diagnosis of ADPKD based on Ravine et al. criteria
- Imaging classification Class 1 B-E (for ADPKD subjects)
- Male or female aged 18 to 30 years, inclusive
- Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) above 60 mL/min/m2 (CKD-EPI equation)
- Ability to provide written informed consent
- Male or female aged 18 to 30 years, inclusive (healthy subjects)
- Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) above 60 mL/min/m2 (healthy subjects)
- Ability to provide written informed consent (healthy subjects)
You will not qualify if you...
- Imaging classification Class 2 (for ADPKD subjects)
- Presence of other kidney diseases such as lupus, hepatitis B or C, or amyloidosis
- Diabetes mellitus with fasting glucose above 126 mg/dL or treatment with insulin or oral hypoglycemics
- Urine protein excretion above 1 g/24 hours
- Abnormal urinalysis suggesting glomerular disease
- Contraindications to MRI, including ferromagnetic metal prostheses, aneurysm clips, severe claustrophobia, or large abdominal/back tattoos
- Pregnancy in female subjects
- Personal or family history of kidney disease (for healthy subjects)
- Presence of proteinuria (for healthy subjects)
