Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Diagnosed with acute kidney injury based on changes in serum creatinine according to the 2012 KDIGO criteria
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Fewer than two serum creatinine records during hospitalization
  • Diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease (chronic kidney disease stage 5)
  • History of nephrectomy (kidney removal)
  • History of kidney transplantation
  • Peak serum creatinine less than 53 µmol/L
  • Serum creatinine decreased after amputation
