Secondary measures include C-peptide levels, autoantibody titers, fasting blood glucose, blood pressure, lipid profiles, and metabolomics. This study helps improve understanding of T1D progression and management over time.

Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus of any duration, meeting at least one of the following: clinical diagnosis by a specialist; age at onset under 15 years with no overweight or obesity at onset, previous diabetic ketoacidosis, or low C-peptide; initiation and continuation of insulin therapy after diagnosis with positive islet autoantibodies.
- Children and adolescents with diabetes diagnosed at age 20 years or younger, regardless of type and disease duration.
You will not qualify if you...
- Patients with type 1 diabetes not dependent on insulin for at least 6 months after diagnosis (except those with onset at age 20 or younger).
- Patients with no diabetic ketoacidosis for 1 month off insulin if diabetes duration is more than 1 year.
- Patients with C-peptide levels greater than 800 pmol/L at any time point.
