Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients aged 18 years or older with severe aortic stenosis approved for transfemoral TAVI
- Both male and female patients are eligible
You will not qualify if you...
- Very severe aortic stenosis defined as a valve area of 0.6 cm2 or less, mean gradient 60 mmHg or higher, or Vmax greater than 5 m/s
- History of syncope (fainting)
- Known exercise-induced arrhythmias
- Previously diagnosed dynamic left ventricular outflow tract obstruction with a gradient of 30 mmHg or more
- Coronary artery disease requiring percutaneous coronary intervention before TAVI
- Unable to give consent
- Physical inability to perform an exercise test
- Non-elective TAVI procedure
- Valve-in-valve procedure
