The French DIVAT cohort is a multicenter database started in 1994 by the Transplantation Urology Nephrology Institute of Nantes University Hospital. It collects detailed data on kidney transplant recipients to support clinical and epidemiological research, focusing on mid- and long-term outcomes, treatment strategies, and public health concerns. The cohort includes over 11,000 transplant recipients from 8 French university hospitals and tracks patient and graft data, including bio-banking since 2005. Participants are kidney transplant recipients monitored from the time of transplantation through scheduled outpatient visits or hospital admissions related to clinical, therapeutic, or biological changes. The database collects comprehensive medical records and biological samples to support research projects initiated through the DIVAT network, which encourages collaboration among researchers. During the study, participants' medical information is continuously collected to assess outcomes such as overall survival at 2, 4, and 6 years, as well as immune cell changes over time. The DIVAT cohort supports ongoing monitoring and research to better understand and improve kidney transplantation outcomes. Participation involves data collection without additional interventions, and the study continues as long as the graft remains functional or until graft failure occurs.
