Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Stroke as defined by Traditional Chinese Medicine, with symptoms such as one-sided weakness, sensory loss, speech difficulties, or vision problems
- Cognitive impairment after stroke with significant deficits in at least one cognitive domain and severe disruption in daily living activities
- MMSE score below 17 for illiterate individuals, below 20 for primary school education, and below 24 for middle school education or higher
- Under 70 years old
- No mental illness, clear consciousness, stable vital signs, and able to complete assessments
- Within 6 months after stroke, in the recovery period of cerebral infarction or cerebral hemorrhage
- Signed informed consent by the patient or family
You will not qualify if you...
- Having a transient ischemic attack
- Having subarachnoid hemorrhage
- History of severe liver or kidney disease, mental illness, epilepsy, asthma, or obstructive pulmonary diseases
- Cognitive impairment before the stroke
- Severe communication difficulties
- Substance abuse or heavy alcohol use
- Having implanted cardiac pacemakers or other electronic devices
