Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age between 20 and 85 years
- Child-Pugh class A or B liver function
- Diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma, metastatic liver cancer, or residual/recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma with tumor size 4 cm or less confirmed by recent imaging (MDCT, CEUS, or MRI within 60 days)
- Being considered for microwave thermal ablation treatment
You will not qualify if you...
- Having three or more malignant liver tumors
- Tumor size larger than 4 cm
- Diffuse infiltrative type of cancer with unclear tumor boundaries
- Tumor adhered to central hepatic portal vein, hepatic vein, or bile duct by 5 mm or more
- Severe liver failure (Child-Pugh class C)
- Vascular invasion by malignant liver tumors
- Severe coagulopathy (platelet count below 50,000/mm³ or INR prolonged by more than 50%)
- Multiple extrahepatic metastases
- Unlikely to obtain appropriate research data
