Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)
- STEMI defined by the Fourth Universal Definition of AMI
- Age between 18 and 80 years
- Both diabetics and non-diabetics allowed
- Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) greater than 45 ml/min/1.73m2
- Blood pressure above 110/70 mmHg before first dose
You will not qualify if you...
- Presence of cardiogenic shock
- Experiencing hypoglycemia
- History of diabetic ketoacidosis
- Active genital or urinary infections
- Previous history of acute myocardial infarction
- Stent thrombosis
- Prior coronary artery bypass surgery
- Severe liver failure
- Advanced cancer diagnosis
- Blood pH less than 7.32
- Known allergy to SGLT-2 inhibitors
- Hemodynamic instability
- Females of childbearing potential without adequate contraception
- Current or prior use of any SGLT-2 inhibitors
