Researchers are evaluating the MyIBDDiet app designed to help patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) learn about healthy eating. This study aims to determine if the app is easy to use and more effective than standard doctor-provided diet information. IBD includes Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, conditions that cause inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract, and diet plays a role in managing this disease by influencing the intestinal microbiome. The study randomly assigns participants into two groups: one group uses the MyIBDDiet app for 60 days, while the other group does not use the app for the first 30 days and then uses it for the following 30 days. The app allows users to track their food intake, including preparation methods and food processing, and provides immediate feedback on food choices. It also features symptom tracking and educational resources such as videos and visual tools to support healthy eating based on an anti-inflammatory diet. Participants will be involved for up to 60 days, during which they will use the app as assigned and complete surveys to assess the app's usability and acceptability. Researchers will measure the app's impact on diet quality and quality of life. The study monitors participant adherence and collects data through surveys, food tracking, and symptom logs to understand the app's role in supporting diet self-management for people with IBD.
