Evaluating All-Ceramic Crowns on Teeth Using Biologically Oriented Preparation versus Conventional Preparation

What this Trial Is About

This research aims to evaluate the gum and tissue response of teeth prepared with two different dental techniques for all-ceramic crowns the biologically oriented preparation technique BOPT and the conventional shoulder margin preparation. The study compares the clinical performance of these two methods in a randomized controlled setting involving 60 teeth divided evenly between the two groups. Participants will receive either the BOPT or the conventional preparation, followed by the placement of monolithic or bi-layered ceramic crowns. The study includes follow-up visits scheduled at 3, 6, 12, and 18 months after crown cementation to monitor various clinical parameters and patient experiences. During the study, researchers will assess plaque index, gingival index, probing depth, bleeding on probing, gingival marginal stability, and free gingiva thickness at multiple time points from 1 week up to 18 months after cementation. Other factors like crown adaptation, mechanical and functional complications, secondary caries, color matching, clinical success, and patient satisfaction will also be recorded. Participants are expected to attend all follow-up visits for thorough assessments throughout the study duration.
