Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- 50 years or older (actual or estimated)
- History or evidence of head injury such as laceration, bruise, swelling, or pain in head or face
- Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score of 13 or higher
- Has one or more of the following symptoms: impaired consciousness (loss of consciousness, amnesia, or confusion), nausea, or vomiting
- Injury occurred within 3 hours (interval must be known)
- Not living in a nursing home, mental health institution, or prison
- Patient will be taken to or admitted to a participating hospital
You will not qualify if you...
- Tranexamic Acid not clearly indicated (such as in major bleeding) or contraindicated (such as suspected stroke)
