Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Male and female osteoporotic patients aged 50 years or older
  • Both hypertensive and normotensive patients
  • Bone Mineral Density T-score 2.5 or more standard deviations below peak bone mass
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Use of drugs that may improve osteoporosis such as ACE inhibitors, ARBs, thiazide diuretics, nitrates, spironolactone, or statins
  • Use of drugs that may worsen osteoporosis such as corticosteroids, loop diuretics, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, aromatase inhibitors, thyroid replacement therapy, and proton pump inhibitors
