Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Diagnosis of severe beta-thalassemia
- Age between 7 and 10 years, male or female
- Weight less than 40 kilograms
- Patient may have or not have an HLA-compatible or semi-compatible donor
- Patient has not undergone or refuses unconditional transplantation or blood stem cell transplantation
- Patient may have or refuse gene therapy for thalassemia
- Donors (fully compatible or incompatible HLA) meet physical examination criteria
- Patient and family agree to receive hypertransplant therapy and sign informed consent before transplant trial
You will not qualify if you...
- Mental illness
- Participation in another drug clinical trial within the past 1 month
- No suitable HLA-incompatible donors available
- Investigator determines patient is not suitable for participation
