Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Healthy pregnant females aged 18 to 45 years
- Planned elective C-section between 36 and 41 weeks of pregnancy
- Uncomplicated pregnancy as determined by the Investigator
- Available medical history including diagnosis, diseases, and medications
You will not qualify if you...
- Positive test for communicable diseases such as HBV, HCV, HIV 1 & 2, WNV, HTLV 1 & 2, Treponema pallidum, CMV, Chagas, Chlamydia Trachomatis, Neisseria Gonorrhea, or others required by authorities
- Risk for communicable diseases based on medical history, physical exam, and screening questionnaires
- Risk for COVID-19 based on medical history, physical exam, and COVID-19 screening
- Smoking more than one pack of cigarettes a day or drinking more than one alcoholic beverage a day
- Use of medications with potential mitochondrial effects within 2 weeks prior to donation
- Current or history of malignancy
- Current or history of insulin-dependent diabetes
- Current gestational diabetes treated with insulin or pre-eclampsia
- Known carrier of a primary mitochondrial disease
