The goal of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of CHAMPION ("Comparative-effectiveness of a Healthy lifestyle and Asthma Management Program, In-person vs ONline"), a primary care-based intervention to address childhood obesity and asthma, and test the effectiveness of a telehealth-only version of the program. Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Child aged 4 to 17.9 years at time of screening
- Child has a BMI at or above the 85th percentile
- Child has a diagnosis of asthma or reactive airway disease confirmed by health records and caregiver report
- Caregiver is 18 years or older, speaks English or Spanish, and is the primary caregiver
You will not qualify if you...
- Child has a diagnosis of anorexia nervosa
- Child is pregnant
- Caregiver plans to change pediatricians within the next year
- Child or caregiver has opted out of research
- Child has a sibling currently enrolled in this research trial
