What this Trial Is About
This trial studies adolescents aged 10 to 19 years with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy, a condition that affects movement, balance, and coordination mainly in the lower limbs. It aims to compare the effects of fully immersive Mixed Reality combined with standard physical therapy versus standard physical therapy alone on improving balance and coordination. The study is a single-blinded randomized controlled trial involving 40 participants. Participants will be randomly assigned to two groups. One group will receive interactive Mixed Reality therapy using the Meta Quest Pro system alongside standard physical therapy exercises like balance training, gait training, and strengthening, three times a week for eight weeks. The other group will receive only the standard physical therapy program at the same frequency and duration. The Mixed Reality sessions include games and activities designed to engage and improve motor skills. Throughout the study, assessments of balance using the Pediatric Balance Scale and coordination using the Comprehensive Coordination Scale will be conducted before treatment, at four weeks, and after eight weeks of intervention. Participants will attend regular therapy sessions and evaluations to track progress. The results aim to provide evidence on whether immersive Mixed Reality can enhance rehabilitation outcomes for adolescents with this form of cerebral palsy.
