Comparing Postoperative Adjuvant Cisplatin Concurrent Chemoradiotherapy With Adjuvant Radiotherapy Alone for Intermediate-risk Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Diagnosed with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
- Completed radical surgery with intermediate-risk factors (pT3/pT4, pN2/pN3, positive lymph nodes in cervical IV/V region of oral cancer, nerve or vascular invasion)
- No distant metastasis (M0)
- Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS) greater than 70
- Normal bone marrow function: white blood cells >4x10^9/L, hemoglobin >120g/L (males), >110g/L (females), platelets >100x10^9/L
- Normal liver function: ALT and AST less than 1.5 times upper limit of normal, ALP less than 2.5 times upper limit, bilirubin below upper limit
- Normal kidney function with creatinine clearance >60 ml/min
- Provided informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Age under 18 or over 70 years
- Receiving palliative treatment
- Previous chemotherapy (except induction chemotherapy before surgery)
- Previous radiation therapy
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- History of other malignant tumors
- Serious medical conditions such as unstable heart disease requiring treatment, kidney disease, chronic hepatitis, poorly controlled diabetes (fasting glucose >1.5 times upper limit), or mental illness
