- Patients with post-herpetic neuralgia not responding to medical treatment

- Patient refusal
- Age less than 20 years or older than 70 years
- Systemic infection
- Dementia or other diseases impairing memory or cognitive function
- Immunocompromised status, severe osteoporosis, or uncontrolled diabetes mellitus
