What this Trial Is About

This clinical trial investigates the accuracy and speed of two digital scanning methods for capturing implant positions in completely edentulous patients who have full-arch implant-supported prostheses. The study compares a non-calibrated splinting scan body system called IoConnect with a mobile phone-based photogrammetry system named T-Marker. The goal is to determine which digital approach provides more precise implant position recording and better scanning efficiency. Participants will receive digital impressions using both IoConnect and T-Marker systems. The order in which each participant undergoes these two scanning methods will be randomized, allowing direct comparison within the same individual. Each participant has four implants in the upper jaw connected to multiunit abutments. A conventional splinted impression and master cast will serve as the reference for accuracy comparison. During a single study visit, researchers will measure the accuracy of implant position recordings by comparing digital impressions to the reference model, focusing on linear and angular deviations. They will also track the time taken for each scanning method to complete. The study aims to provide evidence about the precision and efficiency of these emerging digital workflows to help guide clinical decisions in implant prosthodontics.
