Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Age-related bilateral cataract
  • Age 21 years or older
  • Visual acuity greater than 0.05
  • Patients with regular corneal astigmatism of 1.00 diopters or more will receive toric IOLs
  • Normal medical history and physical examination unless clinically relevant abnormalities are found
  • Written informed consent prior to surgery
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Active ocular diseases that could prevent good post-operative vision (e.g., chronic uveitis, diabetic retinopathy, chronic glaucoma unresponsive to medication, corneal dystrophies)
  • Other significant eye diseases such as pseudoexfoliation syndrome
  • Corneal decompensation or endothelial cell insufficiency
  • Irregular astigmatism on corneal tomography
  • Severe dry eye disease
  • Previous eye surgery or trauma
  • Pregnant or nursing women (pregnancy test required for women of reproductive age)
