Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Adults aged 18 to 40 years of both sexes
  • Inadequate bone width in maxillary anterior alveolar ridges for implant placement
  • No complicating systemic conditions that contraindicate surgery or implant placement
  • Adequate oral hygiene
  • Good general health and willingness to be randomly assigned to either study group
  • At least 3 months healing after tooth extraction with a horizontal bone defect and minimum bone width of 3 mm in the maxillary esthetic zone
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Presence of vertical ridge defect
  • Undercut on the labial or buccal side of the ridge
  • Thick cortical bone without cancellous bone inside
  • Uncontrolled systemic disorders such as diabetes mellitus, uncontrolled periodontal disease, or history of head and neck radiotherapy
  • Smoking
  • Pregnancy
  • Allergy to medications used in the study
  • Noncompliance or inability to attend follow-up appointments
