Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Single gliomas with contrast enhancement on preoperative MRI (presumed high-grade gliomas)
- One or several brain metastases from any cancer
- Newly diagnosed tumors
- Karnofsky Performance Status between 60% and 100%
- Age between 18 and 79 years
- Have undergone MRI with contrast enhancement
You will not qualify if you...
- Tumor spreading to corpus callosum or brainstem
- Previous brain radiotherapy
- Planned supratotal tumor resection involving neurophysiologically important brain areas
- Known hypersensitivity to 5-aminolevulinic acid or porphyrins
- Hepatic or renal insufficiency
- Porphyria
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
