What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating the recovery of continence, sexual function, and overall health in men who have undergone surgery for prostate cancer. This study aims to understand the timelines for regaining these functions after prostatectomy and will also assess physical activity, fitness, and quality of life in this population. The study is designed to improve knowledge about how well and how long it takes for men to recover following this surgery. The study tests a combined pelvic health rehabilitation and exercise program delivered both in-person and virtually to support men after prostate cancer surgery. The intervention includes online education to aid continence, sexual, and overall health, a group exercise fitness program tailored for early post-surgery needs, and intensive pelvic floor muscle exercises to promote recovery. Participants are randomly assigned to either this combined program or standard care with physical activity counseling and pelvic floor exercises. Participants will be involved in the program for 12 weeks with ongoing assessments including urinary continence tests, fitness measures like strength and endurance, metabolic health indicators such as glucose and lipid levels, and quality of life questionnaires. Researchers will monitor adherence, recruitment, and completion rates, with final assessments occurring one year after surgery. This will help evaluate both the feasibility and effects of the intervention compared to usual care.
