Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • BMI 6 40 without comorbidities or BMI 6 35 with at least one comorbidity
  • Age between 18 and 65 years
  • Written informed consent obtained
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Severe psychiatric illness in the decompensation phase
  • Drug or alcohol abuse
  • Unwillingness to follow periodic checkups and a dietary regimen
  • Pregnancy or lactation
  • Obesity caused by other endocrine disorders or medications
  • Diabetes mellitus of any type
  • Malignant tumors or ongoing acute illness
  • Organ failure or chronic central nervous system and kidney disease
  • Electrolyte imbalances
  • Use of drugs affecting the pituitary-adrenal axis, diuretics, antipsychotics, psychopharmacological treatments, GLP1 receptor agonists, or estro-progestin therapy
