What this Trial Is About
Researchers are studying patients aged 50 to 85 with Cerebral Small Vessel Disease (CSVD) to better understand the features of cognitive impairment and brain imaging related to this condition. The study focuses on examining deep medullary veins (DMVs) using advanced 3.0T MRI SWI sequences. It compares demographic data, blood test results, imaging scores, and DMV counts between CSVD patients with and without cognitive problems to explore the relationship between DMVs and cognitive dysfunction. The study involves comprehensive and standardized neuropsychological assessments along with multimodal imaging examinations. Researchers will analyze risk factors for cognitive impairment in CSVD and develop a prediction model to assess whether including DMV counts improves its accuracy. The goal is to identify new imaging markers that could help detect and intervene early in cognitive impairment among CSVD patients. Participants undergo detailed cognitive testing and brain scans to collect necessary data. Researchers will monitor DMV scores from January 2022 to January 2025 and evaluate how these relate to cognitive function. The study aims to provide evidence supporting early diagnosis and treatment strategies for cognitive issues in CSVD, based on imaging and clinical assessments.
