Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Elderly patients aged 65 years or older
- Patients with American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) grade I to III
- Patients scheduled for elective non-cardiac surgery under general anesthesia lasting more than 1 hour
- Patients receiving intravenous general anesthesia induction with intra-tracheal intubation and maintenance
You will not qualify if you...
- Patients with vascular diseases such as aortic aneurysm, aortic dissection, symptomatic atherosclerotic obliterans, Buerger's disease, or Raynaud's syndrome
- Patients with secondary hypertension including renal or endocrine hypertension
- Patients with chronic kidney disease requiring dietary restrictions or dialysis
- Patients with Parkinson's disease or other tremor-causing conditions
- Patients with problems related to oral food intake or needing enteral nutrition
- Patients with difficulties measuring upper limbs or communication problems interfering with study procedures
- Patients unable to remain in a supine position for at least 2 hours
