Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Participants must have undergone Roux-en-Y gastric bypass at least 12 months ago
  • Participants must have undergone gastric sleeve surgery at least 12 months ago
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Nephrotic syndrome, liver cirrhosis, or severe malnutrition reducing cortisol-binding globulin levels
  • Use of corticosteroid medications such as prednisolone
  • Use of opioid-containing medications
  • Use of estrogen-containing medications like hormone therapy for menopause
  • Known adrenal disease affecting cortisol metabolism including autonomous cortisol production and Cushing's syndrome
  • Diabetes not requiring medical treatment
  • Previously diagnosed reactive hypoglycemia after bariatric surgery requiring medical treatment
