Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Diagnosis of cancer with a tumor in the esophagus or esophagus-stomach junction
- Age 18 years or older
- Planned radiation therapy treatment
- Karnofsky performance status of 60 or higher
- Life expectancy of at least two months
- Able to understand and sign the informed consent form
- Able to undergo simulation and radiation using CPAP
- Candidates for definitive, palliative, or pre-operative radiation, with or without chemotherapy
You will not qualify if you...
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Significant health conditions preventing the use of CPAP
- Currently hospitalized by administrative or court order
- Special population status
- History of psychiatric problems affecting understanding or consent
