Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Over 18 years of age
- Presence of teeth in the second sextant (single missing tooth with adjacent teeth on both sides allowed)
- No sites with attachment loss greater than 3 mm in the area to be treated (second sextant)
- Full mouth plaque index below 15%
- Bleeding on probing below 15%
You will not qualify if you...
- Pregnancy or lactation
- Current smoking
- Use of antimicrobials, anti-inflammatory drugs in last 2 months, or medications affecting gingival tissue (antiepileptics, calcium channel blockers)
- Systemic conditions altering gingival tissue or uncontrolled diabetes mellitus
- Severe dental malposition or dental implants in the treatment area
- Use of orthodontic appliances
- Disability or mental disorders preventing understanding or following study procedures
