Researchers are evaluating and directly comparing the two most commonly used therapies, vancomycin and daptomycin, for patients with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bloodstream infections. This open-label randomized controlled trial is a sub-study of The Staphylococcus aureus Network Adaptive Platform (SNAP) trial, aiming to understand which treatment may provide better outcomes for this serious infection. Participants will receive either daptomycin or vancomycin by injection. Daptomycin will be given at a dose determined by the treating clinicians but not less than 6 mg/kg. Vancomycin dosing will be managed to meet specific trough or area-under-the-curve (AUC) targets based on local standards. The treatment period and monitoring align with the SNAP trial protocols. During the study, participants will be monitored up to 90 days after enrollment for outcomes including a Desirability of Outcome Ranking (DOOR), clinical failure, adverse events leading to treatment discontinuation, mortality, infectious complications, and specific drug-related side effects like myositis and eosinophilic pneumonia. Safety and treatment effectiveness measures will be collected and evaluated as part of the trial's follow-up.

Duration - Up to 42 days from enrollment
Participants receive either Daptomycin or Vancomycin by injection as determined by the treating clinicians to treat MRSA bacteremia.
Multiple visits during treatment as determined by clinical care
Duration - Up to 90 days post enrollment
Participants are monitored for outcomes such as clinical failure, adverse events, and mortality after treatment ends.
