What this Trial Is About

Researchers are collecting medical images and clinical data of patients with esophageal cancer using advanced 4D Free Breathing DCE-MRI technology. The study aims to assess how well this imaging method works for diagnosing esophageal cancer and to predict how patients will respond to preoperative neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy. This approach focuses on improving treatment planning by evaluating tumor response accurately. Participants will undergo chest MRI scans using the 4D Free Breathing DCE-MRI technique, which is performed outside of standard treatment options. This imaging is done before surgery to help predict treatment effectiveness. Surgery is scheduled within one month after the neoadjuvant therapy, and the pathological complete response (pCR) from the surgery results serves as the standard to evaluate tumor response. During the study, researchers will collect imaging and clinical data to analyze tumor responses. The main outcome measured is the tumor's response to treatment, confirmed through pathological examination after surgery. Participants' images will be evaluated for quality and diagnostic usefulness. The study includes follow-up assessments to ensure accurate prediction of treatment outcomes within the study timeline.
