Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Current or former smokers with less than 15 years since quitting
- Smoking history of more than 30 pack-years
- Diagnosis of COPD according to GOLD guidelines and/or emphysema identified by low-dose CT or a carbon monoxide diffusing capacity lower than 80% of predicted
- Age between 55 and 75 years
You will not qualify if you...
- Recent history of cancer except non-melanoma skin cancer or carcinoma in situ
- Other medical conditions posing a significant risk of death
