Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- 18 years of age or older and able to give informed consent
- Residual histology confirmed rectal adenocarcinoma classified as ycT1-3N0 after neoadjuvant radiotherapy or long-course chemoradiotherapy
- At least 6 weeks have passed since completion of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy or radiotherapy
- Includes tumor regrowths or local recurrence after initial complete response and watch and wait approach, confirmed by endoscopy or MRI
- Patients planned for total mesorectal excision (TME) surgery
You will not qualify if you...
- Received brachytherapy as part of neoadjuvant treatment
- Under 18 years of age or unable to give informed consent
- Not treated with neoadjuvant radiotherapy or long-course chemoradiotherapy
- Not planned to undergo TME surgery for residual ycT1-3N0 rectal adenocarcinoma
- Surgery scheduled less than 6 weeks after neoadjuvant therapy completion
