The goal of this case-control study is to investigate glucose brain metabolism in people with multiple sclerosis and age- and sex-matched healthy controls. Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Aged 18-60 years.
  • Definite diagnosis of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis according to the most recent diagnostic criteria.
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Contraindications for MRI including pacemaker, neurostimulator, cholera implant, metal foreign bodies, or unsafe medical implants.
  • Claustrophobia or body circumference including arms greater than 160 cm.
  • Pregnancy.
  • Competing neurological, psychiatric, or systemic diseases including diabetes (except prior TIA, unspecific brain MRI findings, hypertension, atherosclerosis, and hyperlipidemia/cholesterolemia are allowed).
  • Participation in other clinical trials with investigational medical products or drugs.
