Age: 18Years +
All Genders

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Clinicians must be MD Anderson medical oncologists or advanced practice providers caring for advanced cancer patients
  • Patients must be 18 years or older
  • Patients must have advanced cancer (metastatic, relapsed, or incurable) and have received at least two lines of palliative systemic therapy
  • Patients must have an ECOG performance status of 1-3 for Parts I/II or 2-3 for Part III
  • Patients must be able to make treatment decisions based on oncology team judgment
  • Patients must speak English
  • Caregivers must be 18 years or older
  • Caregivers must be primary caregivers providing regular physical, emotional, decisional, or logistical support to eligible patients
  • Caregivers must be identified by the patient and self-identify as the primary support person
  • Caregivers must provide informed consent and participate in the study
  • Caregivers must speak English
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Patients with cognitive impairment or dementia requiring a surrogate decision maker
  • Participants who took part in Parts I and II are excluded from Part III
