Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Neurocritical patients admitted to the ICU, including postoperative neurosurgical patients, stroke patients, and those receiving ICU care for other neurological conditions
  • Age over 18 years
  • Signed informed consent
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Age under 18 years
  • Persistent coma with Glasgow Coma Scale 8 or less within 7 days before or after surgery, preventing delirium assessment
  • Did not survive more than 24 hours in the ICU
  • Facial paralysis, post-traumatic facial disfigurement, or other conditions affecting facial recognition
  • Severe dementia, Parkinson's disease, depression, or other conditions that might impact facial emotional expressions
