Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 18 and older
- Able to speak English
- Ambulatory (assistive devices allowed)
- Preoperative Anesthesia and Surgical Screening (PASS) clinic patient with DASI score less than 34
- Able to provide informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Acute myocardial infarction within 3 to 5 days
- Unstable angina
- Severe untreated arterial hypertension at rest (systolic > 200 mm Hg, diastolic > 120 mm Hg)
- Resting heart rate greater than 120 beats per minute
- Oxygen saturation below 85% at rest on room air
- Inmate of a correctional facility
- Diagnosed history of dementia
- Inability to ambulate independently
- Considered inappropriate to participate by the Principal Investigator
