Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Adults aged 18 to 65 years
  • Patients undergoing unilateral nephrectomy
  • American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) physical status II or III
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Patient refusal
  • Age less than 18 years
  • Allergy to any of the studied medications
  • Midline incision
  • Bilateral nephrectomy
  • Distorted anatomy of the back such as kyphoscoliosis
  • Known neurological disorders, psychiatric disorders, or chronic pain
  • Local infection
  • Hemodynamic instability
