Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Meets DSM-5 criteria for depression without psychotic symptoms as recurrent outpatient or inpatient
- Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) score of 22 or higher before randomization
- Aged 18 to 65 years, any gender
- Understands the trial and signs informed consent form
You will not qualify if you...
- Has other psychiatric disorders per DSM-5 such as schizophrenia spectrum, bipolar, neurodevelopmental, neurocognitive disorders, or depression caused by substances or medical conditions
- History of substance or alcohol abuse within the past year
- Significant suicide risk (MADRS item 10 score of 4)
- Difficulty communicating, understanding, following instructions, or cooperating with treatment and assessments
- Unable to use a smartphone
- Deemed unsuitable for participation by the researcher
