Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Aged 18 years of age or older
- Receiving methadone treatment for opioid use disorder for more than 90 days
- On the same methadone dose for more than 30 days
- Have previously received a take-home methadone dose
- Willing to follow the study schedule
- Report experiencing pain
- Have a cellular phone or agree to carry one provided by the study during a study phase
You will not qualify if you...
- Pregnant
- Have an acute medical problem needing immediate intensive care
- Have a serious and unstable mental illness that affects informed consent or study visit adherence
- Planning to leave methadone treatment during the study
- On a methadone dose that cannot be effectively split
- Currently receiving split methadone doses
- Receiving pain treatment that conflicts with split methadone dosing or study integrity
- Do not meet mild to severe disability criteria
