Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Cataract patients
- Age over 45 years old
You will not qualify if you...
- Patients with ocular surface diseases or eyelid abnormalities
- Patients using ocular or systemic medications that affect tear film production and stability (e.g., eye drops with preservatives, antihistamines, anticholinergics, contraceptive pills)
- Patients with systemic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, or rheumatoid arthritis
- Patients who had previous eye surgeries that affect tear production or stability (e.g., refractive surgery, keratoplasty, eyelid surgeries, pterygium excision)
- Patients with a history of eye trauma, chemical burns, or overuse of contact lenses causing conjunctival damage or reduced corneal sensitivity
