Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Diagnosed with stroke, with stroke onset more than 6 months ago
- Age 50 years or older
- Able to follow verbal and visual instructions
- Montreal Cognitive Assessment score of 22 or higher
- Able to walk 10 meters with or without a mobility aid
- Living in the community with unilateral stroke
You will not qualify if you...
- Having neurological disorders, pain, or other conditions that prevent walking
- Currently receiving any formal rehabilitation training
- Having contraindications to exercise such as unstable angina
- Having contraindications to fNIRS, MRI, or tDCS, including brain skin injury, pacemaker, or metal brain implants
- History of seizure or epilepsy
- Color blindness
- Unable to walk with or without a mobility aid while responding to stimulus by remote control
