Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Adults aged over 18 years
  • Diagnosed with calculous cholecystitis as the main reason for hospital admission
  • Diagnosis made in emergency department, during hospital stay, or during diagnostic laparoscopy
  • Cholecystitis defined by TG18 criteria: local inflammation signs plus systemic inflammation signs plus characteristic imaging findings
  • Patients with suspected diagnosis confirmed by surgery are included
  • Identification by a local study investigator such as a surgeon or surgeon in training

History of severe allergic reactions to study medication Currently pregnant or breastfeeding Recent participation in another clinical trial within the last 30 days Presence of uncontrolled medical conditions that could affect safety
