Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Females aged 18 to 45 years old
- Body mass index (BMI) of 24.0 kg/m2 or higher
- Waist circumference of 80 cm or more
- Stable weight change within 4 kg in the 3 months before the study
- Willingness to participate and provide written informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Secondary obesity caused by drugs or neuro-endocrine-metabolic disorders
- History of bariatric surgery such as gastric reduction or liposuction
- Use of medications affecting weight during the trial
- Severe ulcers, abscesses, or skin infections at acupuncture sites
- Serious heart, brain, lung, liver, kidney, or blood diseases
- Participation in other clinical trials within the past month
- Previous acupoint thread embedding within the last 6 months
- Alcoholism, drug abuse, or recent changes in smoking habits
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
