Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Females aged 18 to 45 years old
  • Body mass index (BMI) of 24.0 kg/m2 or higher
  • Waist circumference of 80 cm or more
  • Stable weight change within 4 kg in the 3 months before the study
  • Willingness to participate and provide written informed consent
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Secondary obesity caused by drugs or neuro-endocrine-metabolic disorders
  • History of bariatric surgery such as gastric reduction or liposuction
  • Use of medications affecting weight during the trial
  • Severe ulcers, abscesses, or skin infections at acupuncture sites
  • Serious heart, brain, lung, liver, kidney, or blood diseases
  • Participation in other clinical trials within the past month
  • Previous acupoint thread embedding within the last 6 months
  • Alcoholism, drug abuse, or recent changes in smoking habits
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women
