What this Trial Is About
This research aims to evaluate the impact of a human values-oriented cyberbullying prevention program on adolescents aged 14 to 18 who have experienced cyberbullying or cyber victimization. The study seeks to understand whether this program affects the frequency of cyberbullying or victimization and improves coping skills among high school students. Participants are interviewed face-to-face to gather data using specific scales measuring cyber victimization and coping strategies. The program consists of eight weekly group sessions, each lasting about 40 minutes, held within the school setting. These sessions include interactive activities, discussions, and exercises designed to promote humane values and reduce cyberbullying behaviors. Adolescents are randomly assigned to either the experimental group, which receives the program, or a control group, which continues their usual school curriculum without additional intervention. Participants undergo pre-tests before the program starts, followed by final tests immediately after the eight-week intervention, and follow-up tests two months later. The control group completes tests at comparable intervals without receiving the program initially but will be provided with the training guide after the study ends. Researchers measure changes in cyber victimization and bullying scores as well as coping strategy scores to assess the programs impact. The total study period includes the intervention plus follow-up assessments.
