Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate in Turkish
  • Age 18 years or older
  • Undergoing cesarean section with spinal anesthesia
  • Spinal anesthesia given in the sitting position
  • Starting oral intake 6 hours after surgery
  • No past problems with coffee such as insomnia, palpitations, or headaches
  • Able to understand study details and give informed consent
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Emergency cesarean section patients
  • History of migraine or chronic headaches
  • Spinal anesthesia changed to general anesthesia
  • Oral intake delayed after surgery for any reason
  • High-risk pregnancies
  • Use of caffeine-containing pain medicines after surgery
  • Smoking cigarettes after surgery
