Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Female
- Over 18 years old
- Diagnosed with breast cancer
- Planned chemotherapy with cumulative anthracycline dose equivalent to 240 mg/m2 of doxorubicin
You will not qualify if you...
- Presence of any contraindications to cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, such as pacemakers, cardiac defibrillators, metal clips for cerebral aneurysms, cochlear implants, or ventriculoperitoneal bypass valves
- Claustrophobia preventing CMR
- Renal failure with glomerular filtration rate less than 30 ml/min/1.73 m2
- Previous history of myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, or heart revascularization procedures
- Previous significant valvular heart disease
- Previous history of cardiomyopathies
