Age: 18Years - 70Years
All Genders

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Age > 18 years
  • Both sexes
  • ASA physical status 2-3
  • Chronic hypertensive patients (more than 3 months before surgery) controlled on ACE inhibitors or ARBs or combination therapy including RAS inhibitors
  • Scheduled for major abdominal cancer surgery expected to last more than 2 hours with at least a 3-day hospital stay postoperatively
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Patient refusal
  • Recent myocardial infarction within 3 months
  • Any condition where stopping ACE-I and/or ARB would harm the patient according to the treating clinician
  • Emergency surgery
