Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age > 18 years
- Both sexes
- ASA physical status 2-3
- Chronic hypertensive patients (more than 3 months before surgery) controlled on ACE inhibitors or ARBs or combination therapy including RAS inhibitors
- Scheduled for major abdominal cancer surgery expected to last more than 2 hours with at least a 3-day hospital stay postoperatively
You will not qualify if you...
- Patient refusal
- Recent myocardial infarction within 3 months
- Any condition where stopping ACE-I and/or ARB would harm the patient according to the treating clinician
- Emergency surgery
